What does my dog learn?

Obedience training consists of a 7 lesson course, given once a week for 7 weeks. Each lesson is an hour and a half long and the commands learned are as follows: HEEL, SIT, NO, AUTOMATIC SIT, STAY, DOWN, COME and the release command OK.

In addition to these commands your trainer will give you answers to any questions you might have and upon successful completion of the course your dog will graduate, receiving a diploma and an 8x10 photo on graduation day. Obedience training is $495 and payment plans are available. Puppy Consultations are $50 for an hour and a half long meeting with you and your puppy.

Dog Training Methods

What is obedience training and why does your dog need it? Not only does obedience training teach your pet how to live and behave in a human's world, it also teaches you and your dog how to communicate better. Commands are taught by a method that includes verbal praise and reprimand, with the use of a training collar and lead. Your dog will learn when it is time to listen and when it is time to play.

When To Train

The ideal time to train a puppy is between 4 and 6 months of age. If you have a puppy within this age range, I encourage you to obedience train him immediately. Your dog will thank you and you will find communication with your new best friend will be much easier.

Is a dog ever too old to train?

Absolutely not! You can definitely teach an old dog new tricks! It's just easier for a younger dog. So if you do have a dog in the ideal age range don't let the opportunity to have him trained during these formative few months pass you by.

What about a young pup?

What if you have a puppy that is younger than 4 months? You can sign up for a puppy consultation, where I will come to your home and give you advice, pointers for the future and help you with any early problems you might be having with your young pup.
